About Big Softie
Big Softie is an ice cream shop in Atlanta, Georgia. It is listed at 66 Georgia Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, which places it among the local businesses of Atlanta that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 12β9 pm. Atlanta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Atlanta follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

There are moments in customer service that stay with you, not because of one comment, but because of the unmistakable way you are treated. I watched three customers ahead of me ask questions and receive normal, courteous answers. When it was my turn, the tone changed. It wasnβt one exchange. It was the repeated dismissiveness, the condescension, even making an issue out of something as simple as asking for a βregular cone.β The contrast was impossible not to notice. She knew nothing about me. My profession, my background, my life. None of it should matter. In that moment, I was simply another human being standing at the counter who deserved the same basic courtesy I had just watched others receive. As a person of color, I cannot tell you what was in her mind, but I can tell you how it felt to watch others treated one way and then experience something very different myself. The place is called Big Softie. Unfortunately, tonight it was a big failure in something much more important than ice cream: treating people with basic dignity.

This is my second time visiting, and the soft serve is good. Tried the matcha and it has a good balance and flavor. There's not much space in the ordering area, but there are a few tables in the shade out back. They also have a water station in the front. Parking is mostly street parking from what I can tell.

Very rare that I write reviews, but I was genuinely disappointed by this place. Iβd heard about it through word of mouth and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was nice, but that was about it. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like the concept of soft serve ice cream rather than actual soft serve. I wasnβt anticipating that the majority of the menu would be vegan. Thatβs great for those who are looking for that, but as someone who enjoys traditional dairy-based ice cream, I found the texture and flavor lacking. The ice cream was more icy than creamy and surprisingly bland. Iβve honestly had better soft serve from Chick-fil-A. The waffle cone was thin and had the texture of a communion wafer. I didnβt even finish it, which is rare for me. The toppings werenβt that memorable either. Didnβt really make a difference if they were there or not. I didnβt come here for a mindful, health-conscious frozen dessert experience. I was hoping for something rich, creamy, and indulgent, and this just wasnβt it. Overall, I donβt think it lived up to the hype, and I wouldnβt return. Glad I finally tried it so I can stop wondering what all the fuss was about.

A very cute little neighborhood shop selling fancy soft serve. They had some unique flavors and toppings - all had options in both dairy free and gluten free appealing to all. The vanilla alone was wonderful! The flavor and texture were stand out!

First time visiting after dropping someone off at the airport. I had time after, so I decided to stop by since this has been on my list of places to try for a while. I am not sure of the parking situation, I just parked on the side of the street and quickly ordered and left. Cute store with a cute store front. When you first walk in, there is a decorative tile that says βBig Softieβ. Itβs a pretty small area where you are ordering, but I did notice there is a seating area next to it that I believe is available. I ordered the a swirl of Vanilla and Chocolate Petite size in a cake cone. I did a pretty basic order, so maybe thatβs why I donβt get the hype and the raring of the place. I was pretty disappointed after trying the ice cream because there wasnβt anything special about the ice cream or the quality. There was nothing wrong with it, so definitely check it out if youβre nearby. I wouldnβt recommend it to anyone or go out of way to visit.
